Welcome to the website of the Egyptian Franchise Development Association (EFDA). EFDA is a NGO and a non-profit organization representing and serving the franchise industry in Egypt. It was formed in 2001 (registered by the no. 518/2001 law 32 for year 1964) to encourage and promote entrepreneurship through franchising.
EFDA is a full member at the World Franchise Council (WFC).

Franchising is a method of distributing products and services.

At least two levels of people are involved in the franchise system: (1) the franchisor, who lends his trademark or trade name and a business system; and (2) the franchisee, who pays a royalty and often an initial fee for the right to do business under the franchisor’s name and system. Technically, the contract binding the two parties is the “franchise,” but that term is often used to mean the actual business that the franchisee operates.

MIFE 2008

The 6th Middle East & North Africa International Franchise Exhibition was held from the 4th– 6th  June, 2008 at the Cairo Marriott Hotel.

The event was inaugurated by H.E Dr. Othman Mohamed Othman Minister of Economic Development, and H.E. Dr. Atef Ebeid, Former Prime Minister.
