Franchising Seminar 2005

The Egyptian Franchise Development Association (EFDA) in partnership with the African Development Bank (ADB) organized a ‘Seminar on Franchising Development in Egypt’, on November 24, 2005 at the Semiramis Inter-Continental Cairo Hotel.

The prime objective of this seminar was to review the successes and challenges the franchising sector in Egypt is facing, and to agree with the participants on the strategies forward to strengthen the sector further.  The secondary, and equally important objective was that this seminar would provide the essential basic information for the franchising sector stakeholders, including the African Development Bank. Such information would enable the ADB to conduct an assessment and develop a franchising sector support program with the ADB office in Egypt. The aim of this support program will be to strengthen the sector in Egypt.

There was a wide stakeholder involvement by franchisors, franchisees, financial institutions, lawyers, and government and private sector support structure representatives who made it possible to accomplish the aforementioned objectives.
